2026

April 2026 Update

  • The on-course restroom at Hole #14 opened to the public, while the Hole #3 restroom moved into renovation.
  • Clubhouse restroom renovations were completed and opened to the public.

March 2026 Update

  • The Hole #14 on-course restrooms were about 90% complete, with paver repairs scheduled for the week of March 2.
  • Clubhouse restroom renovations were complete, pending delivery of toilet partitions scheduled for the week of March 2.

February 2026 Update

  • Renovations continued for the on-course restroom.
  • Clubhouse restroom work was about 95% complete, with toilet partitions still pending delivery.

January 2026 Update

  • Renovation work on the Hole #14 restroom was scheduled to begin on January 12, 2026.
  • Clubhouse restroom tile was about 95% complete, fixtures had been installed, and electrical fixtures were being replaced.
2025

December 2025 Update

  • Roofing work was completed for the on-course restrooms, with interior restroom work planned to begin in January.
  • The west-end clubhouse restroom renovation was in progress, tile installation was underway, and locker room restroom flooring repairs continued.

November 2025 Update

  • Roof replacement work was in progress for clubhouse and on-course restrooms.
  • Construction manager at risk negotiations were in progress.

October 2025 Update

  • Pro shop restroom renovations opened for use.
  • Clubhouse and on-course restroom work was pending permit issuance, while construction manager at risk negotiations continued.

September 2025 Update

  • The restroom renovation contractor applied for building permits and worked through submittals.
  • The City recommended hiring Kaufman Lynn for construction manager at risk services, and the contract entered negotiation.

August 2025 Update

  • Pro shop renovations were awaiting partition installation.
  • The construction manager at risk procurement moved into the presentation phase.

July 2025 Update

  • Pro shop restroom renovations continued, and tile had been installed.
  • Additional restroom renovation proposals were under staff review.

June 2025 Update

  • Club restroom renovations were underway.

February 2025 Update

  • The club required roofing repairs, which were being priced.
  • Interior restroom repairs were in progress.
2024

January 2024 Update

  • The front-facing section of the club was undergoing major improvements.
  • Door and window replacement had begun, with completion expected within about eight weeks.
2023

November 2023 Update

  • New sod improved the area where the tennis courts had been located, serving as a temporary condition until the space could be reconfigured based on golf course, racquet, and parking needs.
  • Refurbishment of the remaining tennis building was scheduled for after the year ended.
  • The pool fence was removed, improving the view of the 18th hole from SW Grill.
  • Impact window and door installation was scheduled to begin in December, starting with east-facing windows and doors.
  • The clubhouse design phase was underway and expected to take six to eight months, with public input and information sessions planned.

August 2023 Update

  • A new golf cart fleet arrived for Boca Raton Golf & Racquet Club and Red Reef Golf Course.
  • The new carts added a quieter ride, more storage, and digital displays with a scorecard, course map, and other tools.
  • SW Grill expanded its hours, offered a full bar and weekend brunch, and continued serving guests from the ground floor of the clubhouse overlooking the greens.
  • Regular course maintenance and improvements continued.
  • The old tennis courts were demolished to make room for a future racquet center with tennis and pickleball courts.
  • The timing and final plans for the racquet center remained dependent on broader golf course, driving range, and complex renovation planning.

April 2023 Update

  • The City continued a multi-million-dollar investment in Boca Raton Golf & Racquet Club.
  • Recent work included painting the clubhouse exterior, installing new air conditioning systems, paving the facilities maintenance area, and demolishing the old tennis courts and practice facility.
  • More golf and racquet facility improvements were expected in the following months.
2022

April 2022 Update

  • After the club opened in November 2021, staff continued operating the golf course while completing renovation projects throughout the facility.
  • Ongoing work included replacing the clubhouse and cart barn roofs and filling in the swimming pool.
  • Conceptual designs for the clubhouse exterior and racquet center were completed.
  • Over the summer, staff planned extensive golf course maintenance, along with design work for potential course changes and clubhouse interior updates.

January 2022 Update

  • Renovations and improvements continued across the Boca Raton Golf & Racquet Club.
  • The upgraded driving range opened for play on December 29, 2021.
  • Phase 1 of the Hole #18 landscape project was completed, including perimeter wall painting, new trees, and other landscape improvements.
  • Phase 2 was planned to extend additional trees and landscaping toward Hole #1 and the end of the wall.
  • Tree trimming was completed across the golf course.
  • Work on the main clubhouse building was underway, with roof replacement beginning January 17 and expected to finish in early May 2022.
2021

November 2021 Update

  • The Boca Raton Golf & Racquet Club golf course opened for play on November 1, 2021, from dawn to dusk.
  • Other amenities remained closed while the City invested more than $7 million in property upgrades.
  • Planned renovations included meeting and banquet space, a restaurant, an 18-hole public golf course, and a racquet center with tennis and pickleball courts.
  • City staff completed many upgrades after taking ownership on October 1, 2021.

October 2021 Update

  • The City assumed operations, management, and ownership of the former Boca Country Club on October 1, 2021.
  • The facility was renamed Boca Raton Golf & Racquet Club.
  • The City planned to invest more than $7 million in upgrades for a public golf and racquet facility.
  • All facilities and amenities temporarily closed while repairs and renovations were evaluated and planned.
  • Golf operations were expected to open at the beginning of November, while the City prepared to transition from its municipal golf course.

August 2021 Update

  • The City continued preparations for the transition of Boca Raton Golf & Racquet Club.
  • Planning included complex plans, operating budgets, and user fee schedules ahead of the October 1, 2021 ownership transfer.
  • The City intended to offer continuous golf access for residents in coordination with the closing of the municipal course.

Boca Golf & Tennis Virtual Resident Meeting

  • City staff held a virtual meeting with residents and board members of Boca Golf and Tennis Club on August 25, 2021 to discuss the transition of Boca Raton Golf & Racquet Club.
2020

October 14, 2020 Update

  • Boca Raton City Council voted unanimously to accept the donation of the 167-acre Boca Country Club from MSD Partners and Northview Hotel Group.
  • The donation included an 18-hole championship golf course renovated in 2018, tennis and aquatics facilities, and a clubhouse with event space.
  • The facility was set to remain open to private members until September 30, 2021.
  • The City planned to work with the community on complex plans, management and operating budgets, and user fee schedules.
  • The City intended to coordinate continued golf access for residents with the closing of the municipal course.

Donation Announcement

  • MSD Partners and Northview Hotel Group announced plans to donate Boca Country Club to the City of Boca Raton.
  • The facility included an 18-hole championship golf course, tennis courts, clubhouse, and pool.
  • The donation idea developed after the ownership group learned of the City's interest in providing world-class golf to residents.
  • The City planned to refine management and operating plans while the club continued private operations through September 30, 2021.
  • Beginning October 1, 2021, the facility was expected to become available to Boca Raton city residents and visitors, Boca Golf and Tennis residents, and Boca Raton Resort & Club members.
